
Kris Tschetter qualified for the U.S. Open in 1985 and officially joined the LPGA in 1987. Although not a native to the state, she won the South Dakota State Women's Amateur Championship four years running, from 1983 to 1986.
Kris took second place at the 1996 U.S. Women's Open, scoring rounds of 68-66; she scored 63 in the first round of the State Farm Rail Classic later that year to record her best career score. In 2000, she made history by earning $1 million for her 11th place victory at the Los Angeles Women's Championship.
Kris has competed in numerous charity tournaments. She has played alongside celebrities from all venues, including former NBA star and former Houston Rockets' Charles Barkley, actor Daniel Baldwin, and singer Vince Gill.
