Marshall Faulk
Marshall first burst on the scene in 1991 when he set an NCAA freshman rushing record with 386 yards on 37 carries, scoring 7 TD against the University of Pacific. Marshall’s college career was nothing short of spectacular, holding several NCAA offensive records while playing at SDSU (San Diego State University). Marshall was drafted the #2 overall pick in the 1994 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
Marshall spent the first fours seasons of his career helping the Colts become one of the most feared offensive teams in football. He established himself as one of the best running backs in the league, winning the UPI Rookie of the Year in 1994, AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, MVP of the Pro Bowl while going to three Pro Bowls as a Colt. Marshall’s ability to run and catch the football makes him one of only a few players in NFL history to have at least 10,000 rushing and 5,000 receiving yards.
In 1999 he was traded to the St. Louis Rams, where he quickly became the catalyst in the Rams “Greatest Show on Turf”. He put up a record 2,429 yards from scrimmage (1,381 – Rushing, 1,048 receiving), eclipsing Berry Sanders record of 2,358, while helping the Rams win Super Bowl XXXIV. Marshall is a 7- time Pro Bowler and won the 2000 NFL MVP while setting a NFL Record 26 TD’s, which has now been broken by Priest Holmes, Shaun Alexander and LaDainian Tomlinson.
He won three NFL Most Valuable Offensive Players awards and has an NFL record of four consecutive 2,000 total yards seasons.
